- Heavy rains and thunderstorms have been affecting the department of Cordillera in southern Paraguay since 27 May, causing severe weather-related incidents that have resulted in casualties and damage.
- According to media, as of 29 May, one person died due to a lighting-related incident in Eusebio Ayala city in the southern Cordillera department. In addition, several roads have been flooded in the city.
- Over the next 24 hours, more heavy rainfall is forecast over south-eastern Paraguay, drier conditions are expected on 30-31 May.
