Severe Weather

On 14 April 2019, the city government of Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, reported hail storm and floods on Saturday, 13 April, causing the destruction of several houses and affecting traffic lights in the city. More than 110 residents were affected by the hail storm in Caxias do Sul. In addition, media reported, 365 homes were affected by the storm. On 15 April 2019, the Mayor of Caldas Department in Colombia reported heavy rain over the weekend, where local authority provided assistance to affected families in La Inmaculada neighborhood. Media reported, more than 200 people were affected in Caldas Municipality due to an overflow of several creeks. On 14 April 2019, the Paraguay National Emergency Secretariat (SEN) reported that recent heavy rain in Asuncion City caused the Paraguay river wall to collapse, affecting 300 families in Villa Cangrejo, Sajonia neighborhood. The report is available in Spanish at: SEN.

On 17 March 2019, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported severe thunderstorms extending from eastern Texas into the Tennessee Valley, occurred over the weekend where several homes, businesses, buildings, and vehicles were damaged.
