Awareness campaign and kits for flood affected families: Officials from the Bureau of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in coordination with the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN), began an awareness campaign for cleanliness, responsible use of basic services and epidemiological alerts for the Aedes aegypti mosquito -borne diseases in the shelters for families affected by floods. The first 500 families targeted were in "Chiquito" and "Mburicaó" shelters in the area of Tablada Nueva, in the capital. The campaign will be extended to 143 shelters in 10 operating areas, in order to reach more than 14,000 families housed in them. 500 hygiene kits containing cleaning products and personal hygiene were also distributed to families in the Chiquito and Mburicao shelters.
