IOM shared two situation reports, the latest of which which states: “An estimated 1,310 individuals have been displaced, representing a 29 per cent increase compared to the 1,018 individuals reported in SitRep No. 1 on 26 August 2025. The displaced are spread across three main locations: 583 individuals (44%) from the Dambe Kombkamane community in Nondugl (North Waghi District, Jiwaka Province); 507 individuals (39%) from the Komban community in Gamar (Kerowagi District, Chimbu Province); and 220 individuals (17%) from the Komunka community in Begbe (Anglimp/South Waghi District, Jiwaka Province).

Based on key informant interviews, food, shelter, and NFIs remain the top priorities for affected households. Most are currently staying with host communities, where limited food supplies and insufficient NFIs remain a serious concern, particularly for women and children. The majority of displaced households indicated they intend to remain in their current locations until the situation improves, rather than risk an early return.
