Highlights

  • FLOODS: The number of people affected by floods in Argentina has increased.
    More than 16,000 people have been evacuated.

  • DROUGHT AND FOOD INSECURITY:
    Two million people need humanitarian assistance in Haiti. The humanitarian community is requesting US$193.8 million to address this and other emergency needs in the country.

  • MIGRANTS: In Central America, the number of people seeking asylum in neighboring countries for violence has increased by 250 percent. UNHCR calls the situation in Central America a protection crisis.
