Severe Weather

On 4 August 2018, the Panama National System of Civil Protection National Emergency Operations Center (SINAPROC) reported heavy rain and floods in several towns of the Arraijan and Antón Districts, Oeste and Cocle Provinces respectively, Panama affecting 60 families and causing landslides in Barriada el Eden and Vista Alegre. Tropical Storm Ileana
Eastern North Pacific and Mexico (Alert)

On 6 August 2018, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NOAA) reported Tropical Storm Ilena is located 245 miles south east of Manzanilllo City, Colima State, Mexico; Ileana is likely to become a hurricane by tonight. A hurricane watch is effect for Punta San Telmo to Playa Perula Mexico and a storm warning is in effect for Tecpan de Galeana to Cabo Corrientes Mexico. On 6 August 2018, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reported a fire spread rapidly and burned 267,000 acres of land over the weekend in Mendocino County, California, United States, and threatened 9,000 homes and 300 commercial properties as well as destroyed 67 homes.
