Ukraine sends Relief Goods for Flood Victims

Islamabad 01 May: In order to provide relief assistance to the affectees of floods 2010, government of Ukraine air lifted 387 packages/pieces (RCP) of 13050 Kgs of relief shipment to Pakistan. The Ukranian officials Sergii Levytskyi & Oleksandr Sulim handed over the relief cargo to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Logistic head, Lt Col (Retd) Muhammad Ali Kazi, TI (M) at Chaklala Airbase, Rawalpindi.

The relief shipment inventory included 7000 pieces of Blankets, 1000 pieces of Winter Jackets and 57919 packs/flasks of Medical preparations. This humanitarian shipment is to be followed by another relief cargo from Ukraine on the 5th of May. In addition to this, the President of Ukraine, H.E Victor Fedorovych Yanukovych has approved an amount of 5.191 Million HRV (Ukrainian Currency) for mitigating the hardships of the victims of Floods in Pakistan.

This expression of solidarity and gesture of goodwill by the friendly country of Ukraine will be instrumental in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.
