Summary
The present report is submitted to the General Assembly in compliance with its request contained in resolution 64/294 entitled "Strengthening emergency relief, rehabilitation, reconstruction and prevention in the wake of devastating floods in Pakistan". The report describes the impact of the disaster, focusing on the humanitarian relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction assistance supplied by the United Nations and its partners. It also describes some of the critical humanitarian challenges as well as efforts in disaster risk reduction and preparedness.
