Second Ukrainian Relief Shipment for Flood Victims reaches Islamabad

Islamabad 04 May: The friendly country of Ukraine sent second consignment of humanitarian cargo for the victims of Floods 2010. The relief shipment consisted of 14821 Kgs of relief goods. Brig Sajid Naeem, Member Operations NDMA received the relief goods from the Ambassador of Ukrain HE Ihor Pasko at Chaklala Airbase, Rawalpindi. The officials from NDMA and Ukrainian Embassy were also present on the occasion.

The relief shipment inventory included 7000 pieces of Blankets and of 5000 Kgs of Javel-Clade (Water Treatment Means). On the 1st of May, 2011, the Ukrainian government had also sent 13050 Kgs of relief goods for the flood victims which consisted of 7000 Blankets, 1000 Winter Jackets & 57919 Packs/Flasks of Medical preparations. In addition to this, the President of Ukraine, H.E Victor Fedorovych Yanukovych has approved an amount of 5.191 Million HRV (Ukrainian Currency) for mitigating the hardships of the victims of Floods in Pakistan.

This expression of solidarity and gesture of goodwill by the friendly country of Ukraine will be instrumental in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.
