Pakistan: Turkish musicians collect US$ 10,000 for earthquake survivors

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (APP): World renowned Turkish flute soloist, Ms. Sefika Kutluer and the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra with the conductor Isin Metin have collected US$ 10,000 for the earthquake survivors in Pakistan.
Sefika and comrades jointly held a concert on January 21 in Ankra for the benefit of the earthquake affected people of Pakistan within the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the founding of UNICEF.

During the concert, Ms. Sefika Kutluer, who is known as the "magic flute" in the world press, performed musical pieces from popular operas fascinating the audience.

"An amount of US$ 10,000 has been collected from the concert and deposited at the UNICEF Fund created for the victims of the earthquake in Pakistan," announced the Turkish Embassy in Pakistan here on Tuesday.

The Embassy hopes that Ms. Sefika Kutluer will come to Pakistan for another concert in aid of the people in the earthquake stricken areas.
