Islamabad, Feb 4, IRNA -- Death toll rose to 75 including women and children as shells hit various houses on Tuesday, while, dead bodies could not be taken from the area due to imposition of curfew.
The security forces have stepped up operations against militants in Swat. The forces targeted the hideouts of the militants with artillery shelling in Charbagh, Matta, Mangalor and Kabal areas of Swat valley.
A shell landed in the house of a man Rasool Khan in Char Bagh killing four persons including two women.
Five other persons including a woman were killed and 10 wounded when shells landed in various houses of Charbagh.
A dead body found in Hazara area of Kabal, while a man was killed in shelling at the hideouts of militants.
A police constable was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Rahimabad. Moreover, nine dead bodies have been found from various localities in Mingora.
The security forces are advancing towards Charbagh and upper areas.
