Islamabad, Nov 20th, 2008: Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims, has provided some 150 winterized tents worth more than 2 million rupees to Chairman Development Authority Muzaffarabad for onward distribution among quake-affectees.
These winterized tents were dispatched to Muzaffarabad, on the request of ERRA, to provide temporary shelters to the earthquake victims. These room shape tents are made to stand in adverse weathers. They have a covered area of 3x4 square meters.
The representatives of Saudi Public Assistance for Pakistan Earthquake Victims would distribute the tents with the help of Chairman Development Authority Muzaffarabad.
It is pertinent to mention here that SPAPEV was working here in Pakistan on the directives of King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the custodian of two holy mosques, and under the supervision of Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud to mitigate the sufferings of the October 8, 2005 devastated earthquake.
SPAPEV has completed 4000 pre-fabricated houses worth 18.5 million US dollar to settle the Balakot quake-affected displaced families. Another project of 3000 pre-fabricated houses worth more than 15 million US dollars is underway in Bagh and Muzzaffarabad.
