This Ramazan Package was distributed by SPAPEV on the special directive of King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, following the instruction of Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz the Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia, and Chairman of the organization Dr. Saed Al-Harithy, Advisor to Interior Minister to express their happiness on the occasion of holy month, with the people of quake-hit areas. The Organization (SPAPEV) supplied these 7600 food boxes worth 350,000 US million dollar to AJK and NWFP areas as Ramazan Package.
It is pertinent to mention here that the SPAPEV soon after its establishment in the aftermath of October 8, 2005 earthquake, started rescue, relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction work in quake-ravaged areas with the consultation and assistance of government of Pakistan.
The Organization is engaged in the construction of some 20 schools in quake-hit areas and the project is being completed in AJK at a cost of $1.5 million. Recently, the SPAPEV has completed about 4000 pre-fabricated houses worth 18.5 million US dollar, for the displaced families of Balakot to resettle them at their forefathers places.
So far, the organization, had dispatched and distributed more than 2000 relief goods laden trucks containing 230,000 blankets, 150,000 quilts, 12500 winterized tents, 4.0 million riyals medicine, stoves, 100,000 food packets containing sugar, pulses, Ghee, Oil, rice, flour bags, etc. and thousands of polypropylene sheets "Tarpal" for the affectees.
The organization is working under the dynamic leadership of its Regional Director, Dr. Khalid M. Al-Othmani who is engaged in the reconstruction process, since the earthquake of high intensity hit the Northern Part of Pakistan.
Saudi Public Assistance for Pakisatan Earthquake Cictims is a Saudi based relief organization, which is formed in Riyadh to ensure the best utilization of Saudi public donations collected from the Saudi people on the call of Saudi Government to help Oct 8, 2005 earthquake affectees in Pakistan.
