SOS Call For Emergency Response

Heavy rains have brought IMMENSE DISASTER in Sindh and Balochitan provinces of Pakistan. A large Number of People more than two hundred thousands (200,000) men, women and children who migrated to town from about 500 flooded villages have become shelter less, burning on tree less roads in sun heat awfully in Qamber Shahdadkot District of Sindh. Disaster affected people are facing multidimentional problems like un hygienically drinking stained water, unclean sleeping places on dry grass, taking unprotected food etc. There is no alternate way using the same roads for latrine/ lavatory for the affected people that cause immense diseases in the area.

There is an IMMIDIATE PROBLEM facing by People especially women and children are getting harassed by unknown people in camps As a result of the migration of a large number of communities including men, women and children from flooded affected villages to towns. Different families, tribes are staying together under one shade/shelter or roads WOMEN IN CAMPS ARE URGING FOR SECURITY ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT AND AT NOONTIME.

Assessment report and list of affected villages are attached.

EMERGECY RESPONSE NEEDED IMMIDIATELY IN THE AFFECTED AREAS:

- Urgent need to provide food to communities also vaccination should be ensured on priority basis to save their lives.

- There is an urgent need to provide shelter tent in camps.

- Immediate need to provide water canes and chlorine or other chemicals for cleaning water to the vulnerable communities

- There is an immediate need for health camps to prevent the skin problems, eye infection, malaria, chest infection, diarrhea, fever.

- There is strong need of hygienic kits. It would help in disease prevention if provided with health education.

- Sanitation facilities needed in camps on urgent basis.

- Security preventions for Women and Children
