Highlights

- As of 17 August, heli-lift operations from Sukkur have begun delivering relief items to Jacobabad.

- Additional helicopters and a fixed wing aircraft from the Pakistani Government are also expected to begin delivering relief items from Sukkur to surrounding areas.

- The Logistics Cluster is coordinating with the Government of Pakistan to include relief items from the Humanitarian Community on the sorties. Interested organisations should complete a Cargo Movement Request Form available on the Logistics Cluster website http://www.logcluster.org/ops/pak09a/cargo-movement-request.

Situation Update

- The Pakistani National Weather Service is advising of exceptionally high flood levels on the Indus River at Guddu and Sukkur, and medium flooding at Kotri Barrage. This is expected to cause additional flooding in low lying areas of Sukkur, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Larkana, Nawabshah, Hyderabad, Nosheroferoze, Thatta and Badin districts.
