Pakistan - Severe weather (media, PMD) (ECHO Daily Flash of 30 May 2025)

  • Heavy rainfall, strong winds and thunderstorms have been affecting north-western Pakistan (in particular the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province) since 27 May, causing a number of severe weather-related incidents and floods that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • Media report, as of 30 May, eight fatalities, 21 injured persons, one destroyed house and 24 damaged houses across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where the affected districts are Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Shangla, Swat, Torghar, Mohmand, Mansehra, and Haripur.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over northern and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
