Heavy rainfall continued in northern Pakistan over 1-2 March, with 161mm measured in the capital Islamabad and 66m in the town of Dir (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) in 24h on 2 March.

As of 3 March, local media report floods disrupting transportation, electricity and communication networks, as well as extensive damage to buildings. Eight people were killed in Wah Cantonment in the province of Punjab and another seven in Mohmand Agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), all due to building collapses. In total, 25 deaths related to the severe weather conditions have been reported over the past week.

Over the next 24h, isolated rain and snowfall is forecast for northern Pakistan, including Islamabad, FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhua and Punjab provinces, according to the National Meteorological Service.
