ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira Thursday told the Upper House that Rs. 7.837 billion have been disbursed among all 325,753 registered IDP families from Malakand Division including Bajaur and Mohmand Agency. He said the government is providing all possible facilities to IDPs and relief is provided to them with the help of WFP, SSG, UNHCR, FIDA, and PDMA/PRC.
Replaying to a question, Kaira said in Dera Ismail Khan district 900 student have been enrolled in the morning shift and remaining students in the evening shift at nine high and middle schools. Directives have been issued for facilitating more and more students in the affected areas, he added.
In Tank district 2329 children of the IDP families are being imparted education in 424 schools while 14 facilitation centers have been established for IDPs.
Answering another question, the minister said all the registered IDP families are being paid Rs 5000 each on monthly basis. "Any family not getting this assistance must get themselves registered with the registration centres."
He said a number of families were provided cards at their homes. Even now, we are ready to treat all those who have shifted elsewhere after registration.
The minister said IDPs from Malakand and Swat were provided one time Rs 25,000 assistance for settlement and if the IDPs from Waziristan would also be needing such assistance, we shall provide it.
The minister said DNA test of these IDPs will be carried out when they shall return to their homes and they will have to register after showing their CNIC.
He said food and non-food items were also provided to IDPs earlier from Swat and Malakand and now this was being done for the Waziristan IDPs.
