Pakistan Meteorological Department: Weekly Drought Information (10 July 2023) [EN/UR]

During last week, rain was reported in most parts of country. The significant change was occurred in the Drought areas during last week with respect to the previous week as shown in the figure. Overall conditions are normal in Pakistan. However, the situation in the coastal and adjacent areas of Sindh and Balochistan is looking less humid than before.

Duration of forecast: 10 July to 16 July, 2023

The weather will remain dry in most parts of the country on 10 July. However, rain with wind and thunder is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Upper Sindh and North-East Balochistan.

During 11-12 July, the weather will remain hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

During 13 to 14 July, rain with strong winds and thunder is expected in Kashmir, Islamabad, Potohar region including North East Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and North East Balochistan.

During this time, there is also a possibility of heavy rain at some places. In other parts of the country, the weather will remain hot and humid.

During 15-16 July, rain with strong winds and thunder is forecast in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Southeast Sindh, Northeast Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan . During this time, there is also a possibility of heavy rain at some places. Due to the heavy rain, there is a risk of flooding the low-lying areas.
