HIGHLIGHTS
- In December, the Consumer Price Index (CPI)-based Annual Headline Inflation reached 5.61 percent (YoY), down from 6.15 percent (YoY) in November. Month on Month CPI decreased by 0.45 percent in December 2025 compared to November 2025. Annual food inflation increased by 3.2 percent compared to December 2024.
- Compared to November 2025, in December wheat and subsidized wheat flour prices were slightly higher but were much higher than December 2024 due to ongoing supply‑side disruptions. Rice prices recorded lower for Irri‑6 and Basmati, reflecting comparatively stable supply conditions for both varieties.
- There was a significant increase in the price of pulse mash along with slight increases in the prices of pulse masoor and chicken compared to November 2025, mostly due to increased seasonal demand.
- Terms of Trade (ToT) decreased (worsened) in December by 1,2 percent over the past month, while it decreased by 15 percent compared to a year ago.
