HIGHLIGHTS of March 2025
- CPI (YoY) based Annual Headline Inflation is at 0.69% down from 1.52% the previous month, while CPI (MoM) increased by 0.89% in March compared to the previous month.
- Annual Food Inflation is at -5.12% compared to the same time last year (March 2024).
- On MoM basis, in March, price for wheat increased negligibly while for wheat flour decreased negligibly. Compared to the previous year, a major decrease was noted for wheat and wheat flour prices along with a slight decrease for both rice varieties (Irri-6 and Basmati).
- Compared to February, the price of chicken, sugar, and eggs increased considerably while slight decreases were noted for main pulses and ghee.
- Over the past year, the largest increases were noted for pulses (moong, gram), chicken sugar ghee, cooking oil while considerable decreases were seen in price for a few pulses (masoor, mash).
- Terms of Trade (ToT) has improved by 1.7% over the past month while overall it improved by 64% compared to a year ago.
