KHAR: Two schools for boys and a basic health unit were blown up by suspected militants in Bajaur tribal region on Saturday morning.
Local people and officials said that some 50 suspects planted improvised explosive devices in the school buildings in Malangi area of Warh Mamond tehsil and detonated them.
The officials said that the five-room building of the primary school was destroyed completely while the 15-room high school was damaged partially.
The militants then went to a basic health unit and blew it up in the same way.
Educational institutions in Bajaur are lying closed due to the military operation continuing against militants in the area. The officials said that the number of schools blown up or torched in Bajaur had risen to 70.
