ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said the government attaches high priority to the development of Federally Administered Tribal Areas and would ensure provision of increased funds for better health and education facilities. The Prime Minister was talking to a delegation of FATA parliamentarians headed by parliamentary leader Munir Khan Orakzai at the PM House.
The delegation extended wholehearted support to the government in its endeavors towards the supremacy of parliament and strengthening of democratic institutions in the country. They reaffirmed their cooperation with the government in all situations to ward off any threat to democratic system.
The delegation also thanked the Prime Minister for taking personal interest in the development of FATA, earmarking significant funds for facilities in all sectors particularly health and education. They apprised the Prime Minister of the status of ongoing development work in their areas.
The other members of the delegation included Federal Minister for Environment Hameedullah Jan Afridi, Federal Minister for Zakat and Ushr Noor ul Haq Qadri, Minister of State for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Abdul Raziq, Senators Engr. Rashid Ahmed Khan, Haji Khan Afridi and Hafiz Rasheed Ahmed and MNAs Sajid Hussain Turi, Mohammad Kamran, Engr. Shaukatullah, Zafar Baig Bhittani, Malik Bilal Rahman and Jawad Hussain.
