Pakistan – Flood Response Community Needs Identification (CNI) | Round 6 - Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provinces (August 2024)

From June to October 2022, Pakistan endured devastating floods that affected one-third of the country during the monsoon season. These floods caused widespread destruction, including landslides and riverine flooding. Their sudden onset caught communities off-guard, leading to relocations and significant disruptions to communication and transportation infrastructure. Despite recurring monsoons, floods continue to inflict severe damage annually.

To assess the impact of recent flooding and evaluate the preparedness of affected communities, IOM conducted the sixth round of the Community Needs Identification (CNI) in August 2024. This round aimed to provide partners with insights into the displacement situation, the multisectoral needs of affected populations, and settlement-level preparedness. The assessment covered 19 districts across Balochistan (9 districts) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (10 districts). The CNI was conducted in 6,292 flood-affected settlements or settlements that hosted TDPs across the 19 targeted districts.
