Pakistan: Fifth RCS relief plane arrives in Islamabad

Islamabad - A UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) relief plane has landed here carrying more than 43 tones of food supplies to victims of the devastating earthquake that hit some areas of Pakistan. The food consignments were unloaded and delivered to the Pakistani Red Crescent Society in the presence of Tariq Abdul Rahman, Director of operations at the RCS.

The assignment of the delivery operation to the Pakistani RCS is part of the efforts of the UAE's RCS to build the capacity of its Pakistani counterpart so as to deliver assistance to the needy in the most efficient manner, said Fahd Abdul Rahman bin Sultan , Chairman of the RCS mission in Pakistan.

Sayed Yassin Ahmed, Director of Relief Department at the Pakistani Cabinet expressed his country's gratitude and appreciation to the humanitarian efforts being exerted by the UAE under the leadership of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and close supervision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and UAE RCS Chairman.
