Myanmar donates US$ 50,000 to Pakistani flood victims

NAY PYI TAW, 25 Oct - A ceremony to hand over the donation of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as humanitarian assistance to the victims of the recent floods that struck Sindh Province and the areas near Karachi City, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here today.

After conveying words of sympathies, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin handed over cash donation of US$50,000 to Mr. Amjad Majid Abbasi, Ambassador of the Islamic Repbulic of Pakistan who returned words of thanks.

The ceremony was also attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and staff members of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
