The Message From Country Director Pakistan
IRC began working in Pakistan in 1980, providing emergency relief, health care, education, job training and other essential services in affected communities. Since then, the IRC has expanded to support communities in all eight provinces and territories of Pakistan.
In Pakistan, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) remains steadfast in its mission to address the complex challenges posed by natural disasters, refugee crises, and climate change. Through our comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives, we are building resilience within at-risk communities, ensuring they are better prepared to withstand and recover from adverse events.
Our integrated programming seamlessly combines efforts to support refugees with strategies to combat the climate crisis. By fostering community-driven solutions and enhancing local capacities, we are not only providing immediate relief but also promoting long-term sustainability and maturation. This holistic approach is pivotal in transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and stability.
I am proud of our dedicated team's relentless pursuit of innovative and effective solutions. Together, we are forging a path towards a resilient and sustainable future for all.
Shabnam Baloch
