During the 2025 monsoon season, Pakistan experienced severe flooding across multiple provinces, with particularly significant impacts in Punjab. Heavy rainfall and flash floods caused widespread damage to lives, infrastructure, and livelihoods, prompting a large scale humanitarian response. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the 2025 monsoon floods affected approximately 6.9 million people nationwide, with more than 3.5 million individuals temporarily displaced at the peak of the emergency.

In response to the severity of the 2025 monsoon floods in Punjab, the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) launched Round 7 of the Flood Response Community Needs Identification (CNI) assessment to assess displacement, flood preparedness, and multisectoral needs at the settlement level across selected districts. The assessment was conducted in close coordination with, and following approval from, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab.
