GLOF Alert for Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) vide their advisory dated 24 July 2015 has predicted that during next 4-5 days severe weather system is likely to persist in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral, having potential to produce Glacial Lake Outbrust Flood (GLOF), particularly in PMD's pilot GLOF sites Bagrot, Bindogol and Golain valleys.

1. In view of above, it is requested that all concerned should be cautioned / forewarned to take all necessary precautionary measures to avoid any loss of lives and damage to public as well as private property.
