Situation at New Durrani Camp—Lower Kurram Agency

The IDP families from Central Kurram started arriving at the ‘New Durrani Camp’, that is established by FDMA, Political Administration and local government departments. Today, 112 families have reached to the camp site, and settled in tents. Total of 75 tents are erected by FDMA with addition to the tents already erected by Political Administration.

OPD is operational by the Agency Surgeon and patients IDPs are provided with immediate first aid and medi-cines if needed. The IDPs are provided cooked food with support of Town Committee Sadda, and Political Administration. The cook food contains rice, curry and bread. Clean drinking water is provided through water tankers by Public Health Engineering Department, FATA.

An addition to above, total of 748 families are reported to have shifted from the operation areas to Lower Kurram.

FDMA will establish a formal registration desk at the camp site from July 1, 2011. IDPs will be registered on proper registration forms provided by UNHCR.

Non-food items are provided to camp inhabitants only. Total of 60 NIFs have been distributed among the IDP families in camp. FDMA will also establish an off-camp registration desk at Sadda. Due to limited supply of NFIs, off-camp IDPs are not provided NFIs.
