Nov 18 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan at 1200 GMT on Tuesday.

SWAT - Eight Taliban militants and one Pakistani soldier were killed in a gunfight during a search operation in the militants' stronghold of Kabal in the northwestern Swat valley, a military spokesman said.

A suspected suicide bomber killed at least three army personnel and wounded three in an attack on a security checkpoint in the northwestern Pakistani area on Monday.

BAJAUR - Up to eight militants were killed when Pakistani artillery shelled their positions in several districts of the Bajaur region, near the Afghan border, overnight, paramilitary officials said. There was no independent confirmation of the casualties.

MOHMAND - Security forces fired artillery shells at militant hideouts in Michni village of the Mohmand tribal region on the Afghan border. A religious school was damaged and some livestock killed, residents said.
