Jan 11 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Pakistan at 0730 GMT on Sunday.
MOHMAND - Militants attacked three security checkposts in the Mohmand region on Saturday night, killing six paramilitary soldiers and wounding six, a senior government officer said.
A paramilitary spokesman said security forces killed 40 militants, including foreigners, in response to the attacks on the checkposts. There was no independent verification.
BAJAUR - Militants chopped off the ears of four village guards in Bajaur region on the Afghan border, a government official said.
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN - A senior government official was kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday in South Waziristan, a known sanctuary for al Qaeda and Taliban militants, an intelligence official said.
The kidnapping happened when the official was travelling to Tank city from Wana, the main of South Waziristan.
