1. Situation update:
On 12 January 06, the EADRCC appealed
to EAPC nations for further donations to the NATO air-bridge to transport
last four consignments (prefabricated houses, storage tents, blankets,
snow clearing equipment - altogether 136 tons) from Germany, Italy (or
Norway), and Sweden. Without additional support, the remaining donations
will be difficult to move before the 1st February 06. To date NATO
has transported an estimate of 3.186 tons of relief goods via 158 flights.
The remaining donation of 4.000 sleeping bags from Slovenia (6 tons) are
scheduled to be moved by two (2) C-130 flights from France and Italy as
of 25 January 06. NATO relief flights constitute the largest single contribution
to the relief airlift. Attached please find worksheet open items regarding
the airlift of the last remaining relief goods from Europe to Pakistan.
All nations are kindly requested to inform the EADRCC about corrections
regarding donations and assistance provided to Pakistan earthquake relief
efforts.
EADRCC's situation reports cover only the humanitarian assistance provided by the EAPC countries and the summary of the NATO relief flights to Pakistan. Nations are also invited to contribute airlift capability to NATO in order to expedite transportation of disaster relief from EAPC nations to Pakistan.
