Islamabad, April 6, IRNA -- An explosion killed at least four children in northwest Pakistan on Wednesday, police said. The children were playing in a field in Kohat district in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province when the explosives, hidden in a bag, exploded, a police officer Shah Duran said.
Three people were injured and shifted to hospital.
The police officer said it was not clear if the explosives were placed there or someone threw at the children.
He said that a large number of internally displaced persons from the tribal regions were camped near the explosion site.
Shah said the police are investigating whether the blast targeted the IDPs.
