After being struck by two red level earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.2 magnitudes, Awaran and Kech districts of Balochistan Province are reporting increasing losses and damages. PDMA Balochistan 376 deaths and number of injured people are 824. PDMA has given estimation that overall 185,000 people have been affected so far.
PRCS has scaled up its response and will now be supporting 14000 EQ affected people with basic emergency shelter, food and essential non food items along with providing free health services.
Two PRCS health teams are on ground and providing basic health and care services, first aid and free medicines to the affected population. So far 1339 people have benefitted from the health response. PRCS shall be initially responding in the UC Awaran and UC Teertej both in Tehsil Awaran of District Awaran. First distribution of Non food item kits and basic emergency shelter items took place today in Labach village to 300 families.
