Caracas, 12 Sep. AVN.- A freight with 50 tons of humanitarian aid departed last Thursday from Venezuela's International Airport Simon Bolivar, in Vargas state, to El Cairo, Egypt, the second consignment made by the South American country to the Palestinian people.
In a commercial flight of Solar airline, license YV524T, are transported the 50 tons distributed among food, clothing and medical supplies, informed vice-minister to Asia, Middle East and Oceania, Xoan Noya, at the Simon Bolivar airport.
Together with Palestinian ambassador to Venezuela, Linda Sabeh Ali, the vice-minister said the Bolivarian Government may possibly continue sending humanitarian aid freights to Palestine, nation stricken indiscriminately for over 40 days by the Israeli army, resulting in over 2,000 people dead and substantial material damage.
"During all phases of the conflict, the Venezuelan State has condemned in several opportunities this massacre to the population in Gaza and of course to the Israeli expansionism into Palestinian territory, including the recent approval of 4,000 new settlements of colonists in Palestinian territory," Noya said.
In turn, ambassador Linda Sobeh Ali thanked the action on behalf of the Palestinian population.
"This aid will be very significant because it was the result of a list of utmost needs, just when activities in schools begin, when winter and cold arrived," she noted.
Sobeh Ali noted as well that even though attacks in Gaza have ceased, a 16-year-old teen and a 22-year-old young man were shot in the head in Jerusalem. Also, in the West Bank, a 36-year-old political prisoner was murdered.
In this connection, she thanked the words of support on behalf of Venezuelan foreign minister Rafael Ramirez last Wednesday, during the second Ministerial Conference of States Affected by International Interests.
"Many countries haven't done what Venezuela did because they put word together with fact. We've heard many words and seen a few facts. Venezuela put word and fact simultaneously."
The ambassador added that "we thank all countries that have contributed, but we continue thanking those who are spearheading: (Hugo) Chavez's sons and (Simon) Bolivar's sword which is right now through Palestine."
A first freight had been dispatched last August 12th, in a military aircraft of the Venezuelan Armed Force, with medicines, medical-surgical material, fresh water, non perishable food, clothing and footwear, blankets, pillows, tents, lanterns, mats, among other articles.
