Urgent Call to Protect Children’s Health in Gaza

602,000 children are affected by the ongoing blockade on vaccines against poliomyelitis

The ongoing blockade on polio vaccines has left 602,000 children in Gaza at serious risk of permanent paralysis and lifelong disability.

This is not just a delay, it’s a growing public health threat.

The current campaign includes the fourth round of the polio vaccine – a vital component to prevent the spreading of disease.

Delaying its entry reverses critical progress made by health actors, including Médecins du Monde – France (MdM-F), who have supported previous vaccine campaign efforts across Gaza.

Without immediate intervention, Gaza children could face a communicable disease resurgence, endangering the lives of thousands of children.

MdM-F calls for immediate, safe, and unrestricted humanitarian access to resume vaccination efforts and protect the right to health for every child.
