The United Nations Special Coordinator
for the Middle East Peace Process, Alvaro de Soto, today attended a meeting
of key donors in London to discuss the humanitarian, social and economic
situation in the Occupied Palestinian territory, as well as Palestinian
reform.
Representatives of the Palestinian Authority
and the Government of Israel also took part in the annual meeting of the
so-called Ad Hoc Liaison Committee.
Mr. de Soto, a veteran UN negotiator, was appointed to his present job in May after serving as Mr. Annan's Special Representative for Western Sahara.
