1. GENERAL SITUATION
Conflict and instability continues to be a huge concern in Gaza as lately on 7 July 2014, a humanitarian emergency was declared in the Gaza Strip, following a severe escalation in hostilities, involving intense Israeli aerial and navy bombardment and Palestinian rocket fire. Devastation and displacement are increasing day by day since the start of the Israeli occupation in 1967.
Two years on, life for many people in Gaza is getting worse. Due to the blockade firmly still in place, the reconstruction process is slow, there is no permanent ceasefire and no meaningful peace talks.
Humanitarian needs remain enormous. Gaza has witnessed its worst destruction in decades and an already vulnerable civilian population has been left even more vulnerable.
2. TURKISH RED CRESCENT ACTIVITIES
TRC has an active role in providing and distributing humanitarian relief to the people in need in Gaza since 2008. The Turkish Red Crescent Delegation in Gaza conducts activities in collaboration with Palestine Red Crescent in order to monitor humanitarian aid activities.
2.1. REHABILITATION ACTIVITIES
Upon a written request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to our Agency, the need for miscellaneous household goods to a needy family in Gaza was met. The approximate cost of the furniture (26 pieces) was 8000.00 USD.
Palestinian Red Crescent support for the Al Quds Hospital Project: The construction of an operating room, intensive care unit and an intensive care unit with a 13-bed capacity, with a Project budget of 2,000,000,00-USD.
Procurement of kitchen appliances.
Palestine Red Crescent Disaster Management and Logistics Centre Construction Project:
The Project had a budget of 2,000,000.00-USD, for the construction of a warehouse and Office space for the Palestinian Red Crescent to use.
Mosque Restoration Project: The restoration of a Mosque located within the El Emel Orphanage was presented to our Head of Delegation by the orphanage officials. In relation to the aforementioned Project, a tender was published in the Official Gazette on 07/06/2016 by our Head Delegate. On 28.06.2016 a contract was signed with the suitable firm. The subsequent restoration of the mosque construction works contract for the project has been completed, after making the final acceptance and payment to the company, the Project will be completed.
2.2. ACTIVIES DUE TO PROTECTIVE EDGE & NON-FOOD ITEMS

1 year rent Relief to the citizens of Gaza left homeless in the Seca region: Citizens of Gaza in need for an annual period of rent Relief in quarterly distribution - Project budget of 1,200,000.00-USD.

1 Year Food parcel and Hygiene kit Distribution Project in the Şecaiye region: With a 540,000.00-USD budget, reaching 18,000 beneficiaries; 4 quarterly distributions to 3,000 families identified under the vulnerability criteria by the Palestinian Red Crescent and Head of Delegation.
o First distribution; 1,560 food parcels to the Şecaiye regional council in coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent was implemented on 25.05.2016-02.06.2016 o Second distribution;1,875 food parcels and 1,875 hygiene kits were ordered o Third distribution; 2,000 food parcels and 2,000 hygienic kits

Health Projects: With details & content determined by the Palestinian Red Crescent and Palestinian Ministry of Health, health projects aimed to develop the capacity of Palestine's Health institutions. The Project budget was 1,000,000.00-USD. The project included procurement of hearing aid to the Assalama Association and support activities to the Al Wafa hospital

Meeting the El Emel Orphanages annual Food needs programme: Monthly distributions to fulfill El Emel orphanage annual supply needs. To reach 170 beneficiaries with a 50,000.00-USD budget. Kitchen appliances requested by the orphanage officials were met by the end of 2016, concluding the Project. In addition, a meal was organized for about 190 people at the El Emel Orphanage on 22.06.2016. At the same time, 15,093 food parcels were dispatched to be distributed between 20-26 June reaching approximately 82,690 beneficiaries.

Clothing Assistance program for Orphans at El Emel Orphanage: Providing orphans at the El Emel orphanage a seasons supply of clothing, reaching 170 beneficiaries with a 45,000.00-USD budget. The first distribution took place on 07.04.2016, with the second distribution on Eid al-Fitr and the third on the festival of sacrifice, with the distribution of shoes and clothing items.
The fourth distribution on the end of 2016. -
On 03.07.2016, in coordination with AFAD; 3,000 tons of sugar, 840 Food parcels, 120,000 clothing items and 12,915 Food parcels were loaded on the «Lady Leyla» ship in the port of Mersin. After the ceremony held on 01.07.2016, the aforementioned vessel set of towards Ashdod port. The Gaza Delegation conducted the necessary work for the highway between the Ashdod port and Kareem shalom border crossing and provided the necessary materials on 04.07.2016 for the completion of the distribution process in the Gaza Strip. The operation was concluded, as 75% of the procurements were received by the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs and 25% by the Palestinian Red Crescent.

In coordination with AFAD, the second ship “Eclips” carrying humanitarian Aid, reached Ashdod port on 04.09.2016 and docked in the evening. On 07.09.2016, AFAD’s head of Rehabilitation Department and Deputy Consul General in Jerusalem; visited Gaza accompanied by our Head of Delegation. In the aforementioned visit, with the ship was ready to unload and the distribution of the first materials took place on 29.09.2016. Knowledge regarding a shipment consisting of 77 trucks had been forwarded to our institution by the firm undertaking shipments on the Israeli side. All operations have been complete as all humanitarian aid materials coming through seaway have been received by the Gaza Ministry of Social Affairs.

A total of 4.179 Food parcels reaching approximately 20,895 impoverished people were distributed in Hanyune, Jabalya, rafah and the middle area in Gaza on 5 July.
