Background and Justification
In crisis, women and girls are disproportionately affected, including in the fulfillment of their basic Sexual and Reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
The Minimum Initial Service Package for SRH in crisis is a coordinated set of life-saving priority SRH activities and services to be implemented at the onset (within 48 hours whenever possible) of every humanitarian emergency. The goal of the MISP for SRH is to prevent SRH-related morbidity and mortality while protecting the right of the affected communities to a life with dignity. The MISP is recognized as a life-saving criteria of the Central Emergency Fund (CERF) and as a humanitarian standard within the SPHERE approach.
