Rehabilitation SitRep Q2 2025

Attachments

Background:

Since the escalation of hostilities on 7 October 2023, the Gaza Strip has witnessed one of the most severe humanitarian crises in recent history. As of 5 th June 2025, at least 54,607 Palestinians have been killed and 125,341 injured, with thousands suffering life-changing injuries such as amputations, spinal cord injuries (SCI), and traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The Ministry of Health and the WHO estimate that at least 25% of the injured require sustained rehabilitation support, while only a fraction of rehabilitation services remain operational. At the same time, the ongoing blockade since 2 March 2025 has halted the entry of essential supplies, including prosthetic components, assistive devices, and mobility aids.

These data presented in this SitRep are reported by each organization's rehabilitation focal point either through the Health Cluster Information System (HCIS), including 5W data, and/or to the WHO Rehabilitation Officer and RTF co-lead during the week of 18th May 2025.
