Yesterday morning, the Holy Family School in Gaza was bombarded, causing serious destruction in the compound and resulting in civilian casualties. The school, a property of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, was a place of refuge for hundreds of civilians whose homes were destroyed. They hoped against all odds that their families and children would be safe, but there is no safe place in Gaza.
There is no safe haven for these poor displaced families amid the indiscriminate bombing, shooting, and shelling, which continue without regard for places of worship, hospitals, or schools.
Caritas Jerusalem is asking its partners to advocate for an immediate ceasefire and to stop this mayhem and cruelty against the civilian population, who have no place to turn to and no one to seek help from.
