SITUATION BY AREA:

Situation in the north: Heavy clashes continued between the Lebanese Army and Fatah al-Islam. Only one UNRWA staff member remains inside Nahr el-Bared. The humanitarian situation inside Nahr el-Bared continues to deteriorate, but an overall assessment is not possible due to ongoing fighting. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) evacuated around 150 civilians from Nahr el-Bared on 13 June. It is estimated that 6,140 families have left Nahr el-Bared so far.

In neighbouring Beddawi Camp, all UNRWA installations (other than schools) are operating normally. UNRWA's Emergency Operation continues in North Lebanon Area. To date, 5,122 families are accommodated in Beddawi camp, while 229 families are accommodated in six Government Schools in Baddawi Town.

Situation in CLA (Beirut): UNRWA Installations are operating except schools due to the funeral of Walid Eido. On 13 June at 17:30 hours shooting took place at Burj el-Barajneh camp due to a personal dispute. A 13-year old Palestine refugee who was not involved in the dispute was killed. A suspect was arrested a suspect and handed him to ISF. Some 414 displaced families from Nahr el-Bared Camp have arrived in Central Lebanon Area (Beirut) so far.

Situation in Beqaa: All UNRWA operations in Beqaa area are functioning normally. A total of 96 displaced families have arrived in the Beqaa area.

Situation in Tyre: All installations operating normally. A total of 216 displaced families from Nahr el-Bared Camp arrived in the Tyre area.

Situation in Saida: The Lebanese Army continues to surround the two Camps and is still on full alert; ISF in Saida Area is continuously patrolling the city. Schools are still operating but with low pupil attendance levels. UNRWA Installations in Saida area are operating normally. A total of 294 displaced families have arrived in Saida from Nahr el-Bared Camp.
