"I strongly welcome the resolution that the UN Security Council was able to agree upon last night after almost three days of intensive negotiations," says Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt in a statement on Friday.
"The resolution demands an immediate, long-term and fully respected ceasefire in Gaza and I very much hope that everyone will now be prepared to accept this important resolution.
The guidelines it gives for how to resolve the problem are largely identical to those we put forward during the EU visit to the region and that I presented at my press briefing here in Stockholm yesterday," concludes the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
