OPT: Rafah crossing still open for 81st day in row

Since June 1, Egypt kept the Rafah border terminal with the Gaza Strip open to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged seaside enclave and allow stranded Palestinians to cross to either of the two sides. The crossing has been opened indefinitely following directives of President Hosni Mubarak.

During the past 80 days, as many as 63,396 Palestinians crossed the Rafah terminal 29.521 from the Gaza Strip into Egypt and 33,875 in the opposite direction.
