During April 2024, the occupied Palestinian territory Humanitarian Fund (oPt HF) managed a total of 122 ongoing projects, totaling US$75.2 million. These projects aimed to address urgent needs in the Gaza Strip (82 percent) and the West Bank (18 percent). The projects were strategically focused on Education, Food Security, Health, Protection, Emergency Shelter & Non-Food Items (NFI), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Coordination and Support Services, Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance and Nutrition. Of these projects, 77 projects are being implemented by international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), 31 by national NGOs and 14 by UN agencies. Notably, 48 out of the 91 projects implemented by INGOs or the UN are being implemented in collaboration with national NGOs.
Furthermore, the oPt HF concluded the pre-positioning of US$4.9 million for the West Bank 48 Hours Response with an aim to enhance the system readiness and response to sudden emergencies. By pre-positioning funds with selected partners, the Fund aims to leverage their geographical reach and operational capabilities to address emergencies promptly and effectively. Additionally, the Fund is currently in the process of finalizing a top-up funding of US$22 million for 29 ongoing projects based in Gaza, which were funded under the 2nd Reserve Allocation of 2023, specifically designated for Critical Humanitarian Aid amidst Escalating Conflict and Displacement.
