AMMAN, June 25 (Petra) - Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib on Sunday highlighted the need to increase the budget of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Jordan to enable the agency to upgrade health and environmental standards in refugee camps in the Kingdom. During a meeting with UNRWA Commissioner General Karen Koning AbuZayd yesterday, the minister also called for expanding and improving educational services provided by UNRWA to its schools across the Kingdom. AbuZayd commended the "unlimited support" the Jordanian government offers to the agency and underlined the agency's efforts to meet the needs of Palestinian refugees in Jordan.
