IOF Injures Two at a Peaceful Protest at Erez

At approximately 14:00 on Friday, 4 March 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stationed in the vicinity of Erez Crossing, at the northern border line, fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at young men and children taking part in a protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank. The clashes between the IOF and the young men lasted until 17:00.

As a result, Mahmoud Hussein Aqel Saleh, 16, sustained a bullet wound in his left leg, while Alaa Abdel Rahman Musbah Ghrayeb, 28, suffered a skull fracture after being hit by a teargas canister. Medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital described the injury of Mahmoud as moderate, whereas the injury of Alaa was critical resulting in his transfer to the intensive care unit at Dar Al Shifa Hospital.
