Overview of the PRCS Gaza Strip Branches 11\6\2024 - 20\6\2024

RAFAH GOVERNORATE

GENERAL CONTEXT

  • Rafah crossing remains closed since the 7th of May which has led to the deteroration of the already devastated humanitrain situation in the Gaza Strip.
  • Residents and displaced families were displaced from Rafah towards Mawasi - Rafah, Khan Younis & Deir Al Balah causing an increase in their humanitarian needs.
  • The occupation has not allowed patients transfer through the Rafah crossing.
  • No functionning hospitals in Rafah.
  • PRCS branch in Khirbet Al Adas in eastern Rafah was damaged due to heavy bombardment.
  • PRCS is running its humanitarian operations in Rafah from the PRCS facility in Al Mawasi - Rafah governorate (western Rafah).
  • After the ground military operation in the governorate, EMS teams have been distributed across 3 locations in Mawasi - Rafah to ensure rapid response.
  • All PRCS medical points are closed due to heavy bombardment in the area.
  • 1 IDPs camp is still in Rafah sheltering around 12 families.
  • Aid consignments are halted due to the closure of the Rafah crossing by the occupation.
