This issue of the Protection Cluster Snapshot, extracted from the Protection Monitoring System (PMS) in the Gaza Strip, highlights the ongoing progress and expansion of the Emergency Protection Responders Model, which was first introduced in July. Approximately 150 emergency protection responders have been trained to respond to urgent protection needs, disseminate information on available services and make critical referrals for immediate cases.

The PMS leverages a comprehensive network of these trained responders and partner organizations to collect critical data. This is achieved through a mix of Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and semi-structured questionnaires used in Joint Protection Assessments.

Our PM system hasfacilitated so far a total of 1183 KIIs and 108 FGDs, providing vital insights into the protection landscape. During the reporting period, 139 KIIs and 42 FGDs were conducted, covering 49 neighborhoods across 15 municipalities in the Gaza Strip’s five governorates: North Gaza, Gaza, Middle Area, Khan Younis and Rafah.
